Physidia meets the professionals
Can the patient modify the medical prescription and the dialysis parameters?
The medical prescription is stored on the individual Patient card delivered at the medical consultation in the center. This prescription can’t be modified by the patient. At the start of the S3 monitor, the Patient car dis read and the dialysis session follows exactly the prescription, for a completely safe dialysis.
How is reimbursed daily home haemodialysis?
Home dialysis is delivered upon a medical prescription by the nephrologists and the medical team. This treatment, option, as the other renal replacement therapies, is reimbursed by the Social security system. For more information, please refer to your health authorities.
Can the patient travel?
The S3 is a compact and lightweight monitor, designed to allow autonomy of dialysis, at home or anywhere else for holidays. With its transport wheeled bag, the patient can leave for a week-end or for longer holidays, with the monitor in the back of his car. The dialysis center or Physidia may arrange the delivery of the disposables in France or elsewhere in Europe ( under conditions). Additionally, the medical prescription on the patient card can be read on every S3 monitor. Some dialysis centers can make available monitors close to your holidays location, allowing the patient to travel lightly (check availability before your departure)..
Can Physidia deliver directly patient homes?
Under some conditions, Physidia can provide the service of home delivery of patients. Our teams are available to discuss with you this possibility according to the geographic locations of your patients.
Is low-flow daily haemodialysis an efficient therapy?
Daily haemodialysis is recognised as one of the most physiological therapies for patients with renal insufficiency: it is the one that most closely compares to the functioning of the person’s own kidneys. Many publication describe the therapeutic benefits of low-flow daily haemodialysis and show that the treatment efficiency improves the general physiological state of the patient, as well as his quality of life – reduction of arterial hypertension, reduction of left ventricular mass, reduction of phosphate binders dose or cardio-vascular and metabolic complications. You can visit our references web page to read more about the benefits of low-flow daily haemodialysis.
Does convection with Physidia increase the volume of dialysate fluid required for the dialysis session?
The S3 monitor performs SeCoHD therapy, Self- Convection Hemodialysis, via an innovative action of back-filtration and ultrafiltration cycles during the dialysis session. This convection is delivered without substitution fluid and with stable volume of dialysate. Moreover, the S3 monitor operates with low -flow dialysate volume, reducing the consumption of fluids – in general the dialysate fluid volume required per 2H dialysis session is 25l. The S3 monitor uses sterile and pyrogen-free dialysate bags, which is a guarantee of the quality of the convective therapy.
How can I follow the treatment of the patient at their home?
The S3 monitor is a connected device. The parameters of each dialysis session can be transmitted to the dialysis centre every day and the nephrologist can follow the evolution of the treatments and support the patient if necessary. Therefore, the patient in not alone during the treatment and supervision of his dialysis sessions between two consultations in the hospital is performed remotely.
